Susan Boyle's 2nd album 'The Gift' No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart

Susan Boyle, who became a YouTube sensation due to her "Britain's Got Talent" audition in 2009, has topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with her second album, "The Gift".

The record contains Christmas carols such as "O Holy Night" and covers of Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over", Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and Lou Reed's "Perfect Day".

It has sold some 318,000 copies since it was released on November 8, Billboard's website said.

The 49-year-old Scottish church volunteer's debut album, "I Dreamed a Dream," named after the "Les Miserables" musical track she sang during her the "Britain's Got Talent" audition that made her a viral hit, also topped the chart last year and spent six weeks in the No. 1 position.

Last week's No. 1, Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" album, has slipped to No. 2 and has so far sold 212,000 units since its October 25 release. Kid Cudi is in third place with "Man on the Moon II, the new "Now 36" compilation is No. 4 and Bon Jovi's new "Greatest Hits" album is No. 5.

Rock singer Lou Reed recently Susan Boyle film a music video for her rendition of his 1972 hit "Perfect Day" after she was initially denied permission to cover the song.

Meanwhile, the performance of a new "Glee" ensemble, led by new regular cast member Darren Criss, of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" is set to debut at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart with 214,000 units sold, Billboard said, marking the FOX musical sitcom's first chart-topper.

The "Glee" single "Don't Stop Believin'", originally sung by rock group Journey, debuted at No. 2 last year with 177,000 units sold.
