Susan Boyle marks 50th birthday, YouTube star-turned pro-singer plans party
Susan Boyle turns 50 on Friday, April 1, and had said she is looking forward to her birthday.
The Scottish church volunteer rose to fame after a YouTube video of her audition for "Britain's Got Talent" in 2009 went viral. She sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables.
She did not win the competition but went on to become a world-renowned singer who is estimated to be worth millions.
Her debut album, also called "I Dreamed a Dream," and her second major record, "The Gift," have sold more than 7 million copies together and each have topped the charts around the world.
"There's not much I can do about it," Boyle told BBC News about turning 50. "But I'm absolutely looking forward to my birthday."
She also plans to host a party, the news outlet reported. When asked what she wants for her birthday, Boyle said: "What do you give the girl who has everything?"
