Sugarland 'praying for fans' after stage collapse in Indiana kills 5
Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, the two musicians make up the country duo Sugarland, are "praying" for their fans after a tragic accident left several injured and five dead when a stage collapsed at the group's concert at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis on Saturday.
Strong winds estimated at between 60 and 70 mph blew over the stage at the fair as fans were waiting for Sugarland to perform, according to the Associated Press. Five people have died and more than four dozen were injured.
"We are all right. We are praying for our fans, and the people of Indianapolis," the group wrote on their official Twitter page on Saturday. "We hope you'll join us. They need your strength."
The show's opening act, singer Sarah Bareilles, also Tweeted about the incident saying, "I'm speechless and feel so helpless. Please send love and prayers to Indianapolis tonight. My heart aches for the lives lost."
Nettles and Kristian Bush have cancelled their Sunday show at the Iowa State Fair. The Grammy Award-winning duo is known for hits like "All I Want to Do," "Already Gone," "Want To" and "Settlin'."
