Stevie Wonder files for divorce from Kai Millard Morris
Stevie Wonder filed for divorce from his wife of 11-years, fashion designer Kai Millard Morris, on August 3, 2012.
In the divorce filing, which was obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com, Wonder cited "irreconcilable differences" and asked for joint custody of their two sons - Kailand, 10, and Mandla, 7. In the documents, Wonder agreed to pay spousal and child support.
The papers were filed under Wonder's legal name, Stevland Morris, and signed with two fingerprints. The date of separation is listed as October 10, 2009. Wonder and Morris wed on September 1, 2001.
The 62-year-old singer was previously married to Motown singer Syreeta Wright from 1970 until their divorce in 1972. Wonder also has five children from previous relationships.
The Grammy-winning singer, who has been blind since shortly after his birth, was signed to Motown's Tamla label at the age of eleven. He is best known for singles like "Superstition," "Sir Duke," "I Just Called to Say I Love You" and "I Wish."
Wonder made headlines in June, after being targeted in an extortion plot by his cousin and his girlfriend, over what the singer deemed an "embarrassing" videotape.
