Steve-O of 'Jackass' fame, arrested for assault in Canada
Steve-O, from MTV's hit stunt show "Jackass" was arrested at Canada's Calgary Airport for assault with a weapon, The Canadian Press reports.
Steve-O, 36, who's real name is Stephen Gilchrist Glover's arrest stemmed from a 2003 incident where the reality star got in a fight while performing on New Year's Eve at the University of Calgary.
According to police reports, an audience member emerged from the crowd and hit Steve-O several times before being restrained by security. Steve-O then retaliated with an unknown weapon, causing the man minor injuries. Two other people also faced charges in the fight.
U.S. customs officials found the outstanding warrent when Steve-O arrived in Calgary for a performance at the Laugh Stop. He was briefly jailed, brought before a judge and eventually released on a $10,000 bail.
"I'm stoked to be in Calgary," Steve-O wrote on Twitter on March 23. "I'm doing shows at the Laugh Shop at the Blackfoot Inn Thurs-Sat this weekend. Can't wait to meet you guys..."
Steve-O, who performed on season 8 of "Dancing With The Stars," had no immediate comment on the incident. Steve-O is currently on probabtion in Los Angeles for felony cocaine charges. He is scheduled to return to Canada for court in May.
