The cast of "Castle" recently celebrated filming their 100th episode, which airs on Monday, April 1, and OTRC.com got a little inside scoop.

Since the show debuted in 2009 the relationship between New York City homicide detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) and novelist Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) has grown, along with the cast of characters on the show.

Three years ago, "Castle" star Stana Katic started the Alternative Travel Project (ATP) after experiencing some feelings of isolation in the car-centric city of Los Angeles, where the mystery show is filmed.

The project is a global initiative that tries to encourage people all over the world to go car free for just one day, something the actress does herself regularly.

The cast members of "Castle" have a big reason to celebrate.

The ABC comedy drama's cast, which includes stars Nathon Fillion and Stana Katic, recently celebrated their upcoming 100th episode with champagne and a very clever cake.

After four seasons of romantic tension, writer Rick Castle (played by Nathan Fillion) and Detective Kate Beckett (played by Stana Katic) finally revealed their feelings to each other and got together to the delight of many TV fans. The couple, however, are still hiding their relationship from their co-workers.

Up next this season, the show will change up its format a bit for an episode featuring a documentary crew that turns its cameras on Castle, Beckett and their fellow NYPD detectives while the team attempts to investigate the murder of the lead guitarist of a rock band.

ABC has renewed at least 12 shows for next season, including fan favorite "Castle," newcomers "Revenge" and "Once Upon A Time," multiple Emmy winner "Modern Family" and reality series "Dancing With The Stars" and "The Bachelor."

The network has not made an official announcement but the news was published on official Twitter and Facebook pages for the shows and cast members have been posting messages of excitement.

Stana Katic recently dished about the big romance on "Castle" at the Paley Fest on March 9 and teased that things between the two lead characters might get "naughty."

In the show, 33-year-old Katic plays New York City Detective Kate Beckett and Nathan Fillion plays mystery writer Rick Castle. Together the two solve crimes in the city while trying to balance and hide their feelings towards each other. The two characters have kissed and Castle even professed his love to an injured Beckett but the characters have never been a couple.

The long standing romantic tension between 'Castle' characters Detective Kate Beckett and author Richard Castle will come to a head in January when the two will share a kiss during a stakeout, an ABC spokesperson confirmed.
