Spencer Pratt says he's a 'famewhore' and Heidi Montag didn't want that
Spencer Pratt says he is a "famewhore" and that did not sit well with wife Heidi Montag, who recently filed for separation from her co-star of MTV reality show The Hills, even though he adds the two are on "friendly" terms.
"Thank you all for making me famous!" Pratt wrote on his Twitter page. "I truly had my dreams come true! hated or not! Being on TV is soooooooooooooooooooo coooooooooL!"The Hills ended last week after six seasons. Pratt and Montag were painted as villains on the show, especially Pratt, who had expressed his displeasure for Lauren Conrad, the narrator and leading actress for the first five seasons. "We love each other but I'm a famewhore and I'll never grow out of it," Pratt told People magazine, adding that Montag "knows that and doesn't want that. I want every kind of press. She believes in bad press. There's no way my love for fame and her love for puppies will ever work out successfully. She just wants to hike and hang out and be calmer."
Pratt, 29, and Montag, a 23-year-old who has released her own music and underwent a series of cosmetic procedures before the start of the last season of The Hills, fought on-screen constantly, even after they married in 2009. Montag filed for legal separation from Pratt in June.
"She thought I'd burn out of this, but no, I'm still the same Spencer who went on The Hills to be famous," he said. "I still need to do stunts and take cues from Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. It's been a constant battle since we got married. She would be like, 'Are you really Tweeting that? Are you really doing that?'"
