Sophie Lowe cast as Alice in possible 'Once Upon a Time' spin-off
A "Once Upon a Time" spin-off based on "Alice in Wonderland" is in the works and has cast its Alice.
Sophie Lowe, a 22-year-old British-born Australian actress, has been cast as Alice, Entertainment Weekly reports. The entertainment outlet also says that the project is now titled "Once: Wonderland."
An ABC rep confirmed the casting and the project in question.
Lowe has had a few roles in films like "Beautiful Kate," "Road Kill," "Two Mothers" and will appear alongside James D'Arcy, "Glee" actor Jacob Artist and "Spy Kids" star Daryl Sabara in the upcoming film "The Philosophers."
Entertainment Weekly also reports that the "Once Upon a Time" spin-off cast includes "Being Human" actor Michael Socha as the Knave of Hearts and actor Peter Gadiot, which the report claims will be a love interest for Alice named Cyrus.
The project is being set up for a "small test presentation," according to the report and "Once Upon a Time" co-creator Edward Kitsis previously told the magazine that the series be similar to a chapter like the way "American Horror Story" goes through its stand-alone seasons, which contains its characters and location to a single season.
"Once Upon a Time" is currently in its second season.
