Snoop Dogg says daughter winning lupus fight (Photo courtesy of HBO) Snoop Dogg says his daughter Cori is winning her battle with the chronic disease lupus since she was diagnosed with it about five years ago and that it brought his family closer together.

"She's the toughest little thing I've ever met," Snoop Dogg told People magazine. "She's on the honor roll, playing volleyball and softball, living life. She has all this joy. In the beginning lupus was winning. But now Cori is."

Lupus causes the immune systems to attack the body's tissues and organs and can lead to rashes, arthritis or even kidney or heart damage. The disorder disproportionately affects women.

Five years ago, Snoop Dogg and his wife Shante Broadus noticed a spot on Cori's face. The girl, then six years old, later lost weight and her hair began to fall out. Cori was diagnosed with Lupus months later, People said.

Snoop Dogg and Broadus have two other children - sons Corde, 16, Cordell, 13.

Pop singer Lady Gaga also revealed last month she has "tested borderline positive" for lupus but does not show symptoms of the disease.
