Snooki's fiance Jionni LaValle slams 'jealous, disrespectful haters'
Jionni LaValle, who was recently confirmed to be the fiance of "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and the father of her unborn child, has spoken out against what he called the "jealous, disrespectful haters."
Polizzi, 24, is one of the most mocked celebrities due to her on and off-air partying behavior but is also among the most popular, commanding more than 4.5 million Twitter followers. She announced via an Us Weekly magazine cover story on Wednesday, March 7, that she and LaValle, 31, are expecting their first child and are also engaged.
The news prompted a slew of Twitter messages, some complimentary, some snarky.
"For All u jealous, disrespectful haters out there, u see what u wana see on tv!" LaValle Tweeted on Wednesday to his own 120,000 followers. "My fiance and I n JR are going to be so happy! #youllgeturs."
He also said: "Nicole and I are real excited!! Our baby is going to be #ShortnTan."
The 4'9" actress and LaValle have been dating since 2010 and he has appeared on several episodes of "Jersey Shore." Many of its cast members sport spray tans.
LaValle, like Polizzi, hails from New Jersey. He went to Centenary College and was on the wrestling team. He also wrestled in Hanover Park High School, where his brother James works as an assistant wrestling coach. Polizzi said on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" in 2011 that her boyfriend is "going to school to be a gym teacher and he's a wrestling coach for little kids."
Polizzi reportedly earns $100,000 per episode. An MTV spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com in a statement on Wednesday that the cable network supports Polizzi as she "starts this new chapter of her life." The future of "Jersey Shore," however, remains uncertain. The show has not yet been renewed for a sixth season. The season 5 finale airs on March 15.
Polizzi, the show's breakout star, is nowadays filming a spin-off show with cast member Jenni "JWoww" Farley.
