Snooki arrested for disruptive behavior a day after 'Jersey Shore' premiere

Snooki, aka Nicole Polizzi, has been arrested in New Jersey for alleged disruptive behavior while filming Jersey Shore and was reportedly intoxicated in public, reports said on Friday, a day after the MTV reality show's second season premiere aired.

"Going to bail @Sn00ki out of jail," Her co-star, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, posted on her Twitter page. "The things I do for this girl, I swear."

Polizzi and MTV have not commented.

"She was being very disorderly on the beach, bothering other patrons there," Seaside Heights Borough Administrator John Camera told the New Jersey Star-Ledger newspaper. "When our police went to deal with the situation not Mike The Situation they found they needed to arrest her."

The 22-year-old was booked after she was seen intoxicated in public and while she was being filmed for the show, People magazine quoted a police source as saying on Friday, a day after the reality show's second season premiere aired on MTV.

Polizzi may be charged with disorderly conduct, the magazine said.

President Barack Obama recently said on The View, when asked by co-host Joy Behar whether Polizzi should run as the mayor of Wasilla: "I gotta admit, I dont know who Snooki is."

"President Obama...love to tan in the rose garden :) ...I'll teach you how to fist pump!" read a message posted on Polizzi's Twitter page on Friday, near the time of her arrest.

Season two of Jersey Shore was filmed in Miami and Seaside Heights and premiered on Thursday to some 5.3 million viewers, marking a nearly 300 percent increase from the debut season opener.

MTV has said the group of self-proclaimed "Guidos and Guidettes" will return to Seaside Heights for a third season.

Polizzi made headlines last year after the posting of an internet video that showed her getting punched in the face by a 24-year-old high school gym teacher during a confrontation at a bar. Polizzi's father recently said he found it difficult to understand why audiences were drawn to his daughter's wild antics.
