Shiri Appleby of 'Roswell' is pregnant, doesn't want to know baby's gender
Shiri Appleby, known for her role on the WB teen sci-fi series "Robwell," and fiance Jon Shook are expecting their first child. But they don't want to know the baby's gender.
The 34-year-old actress revealed the news to Us Weekly.
"Thank you for all the well wishes! We can't wait to meet our little Baby Shook!" she Tweeted on December 20.
Appleby told the magazine that she is due to give birth in the spring and that the two do not plan to find out the baby's gender beforehand.
"He really wanted to do it and it sounded like fun," she said. "It's really made the whole pregnancy a heightened excitement because you just don't know what it's going to be!"
Appleby and Shook, a 31-year-old chef and owner of the Los Angeles restaurant Animal, got engaged during a trip to Italy in July after dating for a couple of years. Shook proposed with a 2.5 carat Itay Malkin engagement ring, reported.
Appleby rose to fame portraying Liz Parker on "Roswell," which aired between 1999 and 2002 and helped launch the career of actress Katherine Heigl, who played her character's love interest's sister. Appleby also starred in the 2002 movie "Swimfan" and on shows such as "ER" and "'Life Unexpected." She is due to appear on the HBO series "Girls" in January.
