Shannon Elizabeth joins 'American Reunion,' aka 'American Pie 4,' cast complete
Shannon Elizabeth is the latest "American Pie" actor to sign on to star in the new sequel, "American Reunion."
The 37-year-old actress played the sexy Czech exchange student Nadia in the first two films in the hit R-rated comedy franchise, which debuted in 1999. Elizabeth was one of the final cast members needed for the "Reunion," Deadline reports.
In April, Chris Klein signed on to join the cast for "American Reunion." The 32-year-old actor played Chris "Oz" Ostreicher in the original films.
Alyson Hannigan's spokesperson confirmed earlier this month that the actress is set to reprise her role as naughty flute player Michelle in "American Reunion." Jason Biggs will once again play main character Jim Levenstein, her on-screen husband.
Returning cast members Seann William Scott, who plays Levenstein's abrasive friend Steve Stifler, and Eugene Levy, who portrayed Levenstein's father, have also been cast in the latest "American Pie" sequel, which is set to hit theaters in January 2012 and tells of Jim and Michelle Levenstein's life as a married couple with a child.
Tara Reid confirmed in February that she planned on joining the cast of "American Pie 4," which was its working title.
Fellow "American Pie" actors Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge have also recently confirmed their involvement in "American Reunion," completing the core cast.
Filming is slated to start next week in Atlanta. The script was written by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg ("Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle"), who will also direct the film.
After "American Pie 2" was released in 2001, Shannon Elizabeth starred in the 2003 movie "Love, Actually" and played Brooke on the series "That 70s Show."
In 2002, Elizabeth married actor Joseph D. Reitman, who appeared with her in the 2001 movie "Tomcats" and had a small part as an EMT on "American Pie 2." The two divorced in 2007.
Elizabeth competed on the ABC ballroom dancing show "Dancing With The Stars" in 2008 and came in sixth place. That year, she began dating her on-screen partner, Derek Hough. The two called it quits in 2009.
Elizabeth is set to appear in the 2011 movie "A Novel Romance" with Steve Guttenberg.
Two big-screen sequels, "American Pie 2" and "American Wedding" were released, as were several DVD spinoff films. This will be the franchise's first film to be released in theaters since 2003.
