Shakira is not returning to "The Voice" next season, according to a recent interview.

When asked if she would be returning for the show's fifth season, the singer reportedly told "Access Hollywood" on May 14, "Not for next season, for sure."

Shakira also said that she would like to spend time with her 4-month-old son Milan and work on a new album.

"I have to get back to my baby -- give him some love and dedicate some time to him and also to my new album that I'm working on," she told the news outlet.

The 36-year-old singer welcomed her first child with boyfriend Gerard Pique in January. Shakira did not rule out the possibility of returning to the show in the future.

A spokesperson for NBC declined to comment when asked by OTRC.com about Shakira's departure.

News of Shakira's exit comes just a day after reports surfaced that former coach Christina Aguilera is in talks to return to the reality contest series. OTRC.com learned on Tuesday, May 14, that a deal between Aguilera and NBC had not been finalized but that negotiations are under way for her return to the series.

Aguilera and CeeLo Green served as coaches on the series for three seasons before they both left the show prior to the premiere of its fourth season. Shakira and Usher were brought in as their replacements, while coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton remained on the show.

When Aguilera announced her exit from the series, she indicated that she may return to the show at some point in the future. Meanwhile, it was recently announced that Green has a TBS reality show in the works. The show, called "The CeeLo Life," will premiere in 2014.
