Seth MacFarlane jokes about himself in Oscars 2013 promos - See videos
Seth MacFarlane is not afraid to poke some fun at himself (and 2013 Oscar nominee Daniel Day-Lewis) in new promotional videos for the 2013 Oscars, where he will serve as host.
In the five videos, which can be seen below, the "Family Guy" creator tells viewers to "ask your kids" to find out just who he is, jokes about having a drink off camera and reacts to someone Tweeting something not-so-nice about his gig as host.
The nominees for the 2013 Oscars were announced on January 10 by MacFarlane and Emma Stone. Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln" leads the pack with 12 nominations including nods for Day-Lewis and Sally Field. Other nominees included Bradley Cooper for "Silver Linings Playbook," Jessica Chastain for "Zero Dark Thirty" and Christoph Waltz for "Django Unchained."
With the nominee announcements released, Oscar.com is inviting the public to play My Picks, an interactive and social Oscar ballot that allows users to pick who they think will win the Oscar in each award category. Fans can see the nominees their Facebook friends have picked to win. During the Oscar telecast, users will be able to compete with their friends to see who made the most accurate picks. The My Picks experience will live on Oscars.com, the Oscars App, Facebook, ABCNews.com, OTRC.com and gma.yahoo.com. Play My Picks right now!
This marks the biggest hosting gig for the MacFarlane and the first time he will appear on stage at an Oscar ceremony. He is best known as the creator and writer of FOX's animated shows "Family Guy," "American Dad" and "The Cleveland Show" as well as the comedy film "Ted," which marked his feature film debut.
The 85th Academy Awards take place on Feb. 24, 2013 and will air live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Check out a full list of 2013 Oscar nominations here and MacFarlane's videos below.
