Selena Gomez's mom is expecting her second child

11/26/2011 by Olivia Allin

Selena Gomez stood by her boyfriend Justin Bieber following his baby momma drama but extra was excited to announce some baby news of her own.

The 19-year-old singer's mother Mandy Dawn Cornett and stepfather Brian Teefey are expecting their first child together and Gomez made the announcement on her Instagram account, posting a photo of the expectant couple (shown above), who got married in 2006.

"Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news," Gomez wrote on Instagram on Friday. "My mommy's carrying my baby brother or sister :) I'm the happiest girl in the world!"

Gomez's boyfriend, pop singer Justin Bieber recently took a DNA test to prove he is not the father of Mariah Yeater's baby.

The 20-year-old California woman recently dropped a paternity lawsuit against the 17-year-old pop singer, who she had claimed had a sexual encounter with her after one of his concerts in Los Angeles in the fall of 2010. Her son was born in July.

Bieber had said he had never even met Yeater and that he would prove it with a DNA test. It was reported earlier this week that arrangements were made for him to undergo the procedure.

Despite the baby drama, Bieber and Gomez are still together. The two recently visited Belfast, where Gomez hosted the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards at the Odyssey Arena.

Bieber and Gomez were first linked together in late 2010. The couple drew the wrath of some of Bieber's fans when they stepped out together at the 2011 Academy Awards in February. Many posted nasty comments and even death threats against Gomez on Twitter.

Gomez recently made headlines after a temporary restraining order against her alleged stalker was extended until January 6, 2012. Court documents state that Brodnicki had told his therapist while he was on a 72-hour mental health hold in September that he "had conversations with God and entertained thoughts of killing Ms. Gomez." They also say he had traveled to Los Angeles and had visited the star's workplace at least three times.

Gomez is known for her role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place" and has starred in films like "Ramona and Beezus" and "Monte Carlo." She recently released her third studio album, "When The Sun Goes Down."
