Selena Gomez thanks fans for support, following rehab report
Selena Gomez took the time on Monday, Feb. 10, to thank fans for their support.
The 21-year-old singer and actress posted a photo of herself on Instagram with the caption, "I've done everything I could to the best of my ability. Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me."
The message comes after it was reported on Feb. 5 that Gomez spent two weeks in a rehab facility in January. Gomez checked herself into a rehab center in Arizona called The Meadows, however, her reason for entering treatment has not been reported.
"Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse," Gomez's spokesperson told People magazine.
Gomez canceled the Australian leg of her "Stars Dance" tour, which was set to kick off on Feb. 1, in December. At the time, the singer said in a statement to OTRC.com that she wanted to spend some time on herself.
"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," Gomez said. "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."
