Selena Gomez talks Justin Bieber, debuts 'Come & Get It' (Video)
Selena Gomez is opening up about her "crazy and intense" romance with Justin Bieber.
The 20-year-old singer is gearing up to release her first solo studio album, "Stars Dance," which is set to debut sometime this year. The pop star admits that one track on the album, called "Love Will Remember," is set to be "the most personal record," directly showcasing her emotions for Bieber.
"I think it's a sweet way of releasing it," she told InStyle magazine's June 2013 issue, which hits newsstands on May 17. "It's not an aggressive approach to what people are probably expecting. I'm sure he'll love it too."
The starlet has been making headlines for her numerous public appearances with Bieber, including the pair being spotted kissing in Norway and the "Beauty and a Beat" singer's mysterious Instagram post. Gomez admits that it can wear on her at times.
"It's uncomfortable that everywhere I go, people know," she says in the magazine of her relationship status. "I don't like that. But Justin and I never really focused on the attention. You can't help who you date. So I wouldn't swear off that or say that's what I want again. I don't know. I'm a kid, and a breakup is normal. I have to go through the emotions and feel it out. I'm doing my own thing, being with my friends, and he's doing very well too."
While Gomez is preparing for her album's release, she recently debuted the sultry music video for her current single, "Come & Get It," on Tuesday, May 7. While the video is making headlines for her more mature persona, she also chose to leave one controversial accessory behind.
In the 4-minute video, the singer debuts a number of dance moves and frolics around in a field of blue flowers -- with no bindi.
The Universal Society of Hinduism president, Rajan Zed, previously expressed his disappointment in the young starlet for wearing the accessory for the song's debut performance. According to E! Online, he is pleased that the "Like a Love Song" singer chose to ditch the adornment for her official video.
Gomez initially caught flack when she debuted the song at the MTV Movie Awards in April. The former Disney star showed off her dance moves and writhed on stage -- while wearing a bindi -- which is a forehead decoration that holds religious significance in the Hindu culture.
After individuals on Twitter voiced their disappointment in her choice, Zed came forward and called her actions "insensitive."
"It is not meant to be thrown around loosely for seductive effects or as a fashion accessory aiming at mercantile greed," he said after her debut performance. "Selena should apologize and then she should get acquainted with the basics of world religions."
Gomez seems to be happy that the new video is going over well, posting on Twitter: "I'm so glad you all are liking it! Thanks for all the great comments! xoxo"
