Selena Gomez calls Justin Bieber kiss cam incident 'humiliating'
Selena Gomez might be perfectly happy kissing her boyfriend Justin Bieber in the privacy of her own home, but the singer was humiliated when their faces appeared on the Laker's kiss cam on Tuesday.
"That was probably the most humiliating thing that has ever happened to me," Gomez told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show on April 20. "All of a sudden we're both looking up and we come on [the kiss cam screen] and it's like, oh, so awkward. It was so weird. I mean you have to kiss, right?"
The pair were watching the Los Angeles Lakers play the San Antonio Spurs at the Los Angeles Staples Center on April 17. Gomez, who was born in Grand Prairie, Texas, was rooting for the Spurs and Tweeted, "LET'S GO SPURS!!! LET'S GO!!"
Canadian Bieber root for the Lakers, Tweeting simply, "#LAKESHOW." The Spurs ended up beating the Lakers 112 to 91.
Gomez and Bieber have been dating for over a year. They first sparked dating rumors in December 2010, when they were photographed at an IHOP in Philadelphia.
The following month, in January 2011, the two were photographed kissing and getting grabby in St. Lucia to ring in the New Year. After the pictures surfaced online, Gomez received death threats. In February, the two sparked rumors of an engagement when Gomez was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger. Her spokesperson denied the female singer had plans to wed.
Gomez will next appear opposite James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens in "Spring Breakers," about four college girls who land in jail after robbing a restaurant to pay their spring break adventures. They get bailed out by a drug and arms dealer (Franco) who wants them to pay him back by doing his dirty work.
