Sean Penn, who was once married to Madonna and "Princess Bride" actress Robin Wright, says he has never felt loved by anyone in a romantic way.

The 52-year-old actor made his comments to Esquire in an interview published in the magazine's January 2013 issue. He did not name his ex-wives by name. Penn and Madonna, 54, ended their four-year marriage in 1989. Penn and Wright, 46, divorced in 2010. They have two children.

Scarlett Johansson has managed to keep her personal life relatively private, but finally opened up about her divorce from Ryan Reynolds and alleged romance with Sean Penn.

It might be a while before Sean Penn returns to Hollywood. The actor seems to have found his calling living and doing humanitarian work in Haiti.

"There's no end point," Penn tells The Hollywood Reporter about his work in the earthquake damaged country. "This is where I'll be when I'm not working, for the rest of my life."
