100928_otrc_palin_223 Sarah Palin attended the taping of Dancing With the Stars on Monday to watch her daughter Bristol during the second round of performances.

Bristol Palin
, whose teen pregnancy was one of the main controversies surrounding her Republican mother's 2008 vice presidential campaign, had told OnTheRedCarpet.com last week she was looking forward to a "more proper and more sophisticated" Quickstep routine that she is set to perform with partner Mark Ballas.

Sarah Palin was in the studio as the couples prepared to take the stage and a front row seat was reserved for her, said George Pennacchio of KABC Television, OnTheRedCarpet.com's parent company.

Bristol Palin, 19, performed the Cha Cha on Monday's season 11 premiere, which saw her stripping off a power suit - a tribute to her mother - to reveal a sexy, short red dress as she shimmied and shook her hips with Ballas.

"I'm excited for this one because it's more proper and more sophisticated," Bristol Palin told OnTheRedCarpet.com, adding that she was looking forward to showing the "lady side" of her.

On Tuesday, David Hasselhoff was the first person to be voted off Dancing With the Stars' 11th season. The remaining 11 couples are set to dance either the Quickstep or the Jive next week.
