Sandra Bullock slams Brett Ratner relationship rumors
03/07/2012 by Olivia Allin
Sandra Bullock and director Brett Ratner have shut down reports that they hooked up at a recent after-Oscar party. "We think that it's incredibly sad that in these times, this magazine would resort to complete fabrication, solely for financial gain," Bullock and Ratner said in a joint statement obtained by Us Weekly. There is not a shred of accuracy in their story. We have not seen nor spoken to each for over a decade. We both had a great time after the Oscars, just not with each other." In Touch magazine claimed on their most recent cover that the "Proposal" actress and Ratner, 42, were seen cuddling and kissing at a party following the 84th Academy Awards. Ratner is best known for directing films like "Rush Hour" and the recent "Tower Heist." He was once engaged to actress Rebecca Gayheart. Bullock divorced husband Jesse James in 2010 and is a single mother to her 2-year-old adopted son Louis. Bullock, 47, will next appear opposite George Clooney in the 3D thriller "Gravity," which is directed by Alfonso Cuaron. The flick has already made headlines as both Bullock and Clooney will appear without any makeup. "God help us all when my face comes rushing at you with no makeup on. I'm going to apologize now, but Alfonso, in a brilliant move, said, 'No makeup,'" Bullock said recently. In the film, Bullock plays a survivor of a botched space mission to repair the Hubble telescope. Her character tries to return to Earth and reunite with her daughter. She wounds up stranded in space, tethered to a veteran astronaut (Clooney), when their shuttle is destroyed. Bullock, 47, won her first Oscar in March 2010 for her performance in the movie "The Blind Side." The actress recently appeared in the controversial film, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close." In the film, Bullock plays the mother to 9-year-old Oskar, portrayed by Thomas Horn. Her son searches New York City for a lock that matches a key left behind by his father, who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the city's World Trade Center.
