Sandra Bullock showed off her rapping skills during an appearance on the U.K.'s "The Jonathan Ross Show" on Oct. 12.

The 49-year-old Oscar-winning actress performed part of the 1979 song "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang while appearing on the show to promote her recent film "Gravity." Bullock explained that she initially learned the lyrics to the song in order to impress a boy at school. Video of her rapping to the song can be seen below.

"The sad part is I learned the words because I liked this guy in high school and I was like, 'Next time I go to that dance, I'm going to know every word. I'm going to make sure he sees me lip-syncing it and I'm going to catch his eye and I'm gonna like say the words and he's going to like me,'" Bullock said. "And sadly, it worked."

After being prompted by host Jonathan Ross, Bullock insisted she needed music to perform the song.

"I need some beats, give me some beats yo," Bullock said with a laugh.

This isn't the first time Bullock has showed off her rapping skills. During a scene in "The Proposal," Bullock's character started saying lyrics from the 2003 song "Get Low," by Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz featuring Ying Yang Twins, as a chant with Betty White's character.

Bullock also later joined Tom Hanks on the show to recreate the floor piano "Chopsticks" scene from "Big." Video of their performance together can be seen in the second video below at the 1:30 minute mark.

"Well now we can do 'Chopsticks,' but maybe not in your heels," Hanks said to Bullock.

She replied, "Oh, I can do 'Chopsticks' in my heels."
