Sage Stallone, the deceased son of actor and director Sylvester Stallone, was reportedly set to marry his longtime girlfriend in the near future.

Sage Moonblood Stallone was found dead on Friday, July 13, at the age of 36, his attorney George Braunstein confirmed to OnTheRedCarpet.com. While several news outlets have reported that the filmmaker was possibly dead for several days, Braunstein told People magazine that Stallone posted photos of himself on Facebook, 17 hours before his body was found.

Braunstein also denied reports that the cause of death was suicide, explaining that Stallone intended to get married to his girlfriend "as early as next weekend" in Las Vegas and had also recently acquired a new film for his company, Grindhouse Releasing.

"He was very creative, energetic and very full of life," Braunstein told E! News on Saturday. "We were just joking about how he was going to get married and have a fun marriage. There was nothing dark or depressing, no problems, certainly no financial problems."

The attorney and close friend of 15-years also denied that his client was a drug user. He told People that Stallone smoked cigarettes, but never showed any signs of drug use.

"Sage didn't even drink," Braunstein told People. "There was a report that his room was filled with liquor bottles. Actually, they were empty bottles of Dr. Brown's Cream Soda."

Sage Stallone's body was found in his Studio City apartment, according to the LAPD. Officers were dispatched to conduct a "welfare check" at Sage's home after no one had heard from him for several days.

The LAPD said in a statement there were no signs of forced entry or any other criminal activity that would currently prompt a "criminal investigation."

The cause of death is not yet known.

"I'm going to wait to see what the coroner says," Braunstein told E! News. "I think it was either natural causes or a terrible accident. I don't think it had anything to do with drugs, he wasn't that kind of guy. He wasn't anyone trying to take his life."

He was the son of Sylvester Stallone and his first wife Sasha Czack. The couple also has a son named Seargeoh Stallone. Stallone and Czack divorced in 1985. Sylvester Stallone also has three daughters with current wife Jennifer Flavin.

"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone," the actor's spokesperson said in statement. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever."

Sage Stallone appeared in his father's film "Rocky V" in 1990 as the son of Sylvester's famous character Rocky Balboa.

Sage went on to appear in other films like "Daylight," which also starred his father, "Chaos" and "Promises Written in Water." He also wrote and directed a 2006 short film called "Vic."
