Sage Stallone not a drug addict, authorities reportedly believe
Despite prescription drug rumors surrounding the mystery of Sage Stallone's death, he was not believed to be a drug addict by authorities investigating his death.
A source tells ABC News that officials believe that because of his weight at the time of his death, it was unlikely that Stallone was addicted to drugs. Stallone was reportedly 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed 188 pounds.
The official cause of death of Sage Stallone may be revealed in the next few weeks, when the toxicology reports are reportedly due to be released. The autopsy was completed on July 15.
Sasha Czack, Sage Stallone's mother, recently told The New York Post that the 36-year-old had five teeth pulled out two weeks before his death and was taking painkillers.
"I told him not to do that. I've heard about people dying having multiple procedures done to your mouth," Czack reportedly told the newspaper. "Do not have more than one tooth [pulled].
It was previously reported that Stallone's family met with the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office on July 17 over concerns of Stallone's health prior to his death. The family was concerned that the 36-year-old was overmedicated before his death. It was unclear if Stallone's father, actor and director Sylvester Stallone, attended the meeting.
Sage Stallone was found dead at his Studio City home on July 13 after police conducted a welfare check on his home after no one had heard from him for several days. The LAPD said in a statement there were no signs of forced entry or any other criminal activity that would currently prompt a "criminal investigation."
On July 16, Sylvester Stallone released a statement urging people to respect the memory of his oldest son.
"This is in reference to the speculation and questionable reporting surrounding the death of my son Sage," his father said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com on Monday, July 16. "Because when a parent loses a child, there is no greater pain."
"Therefore, I am imploring people to respect my wonderfully talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha, because this agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives," he said about his first wife and son's mother. "Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son's memory and soul left in peace."
