Sacha Baron Cohen made his usual grand entrance at the world premiere his new film, "The Dictator," arriving in a clamped Lamborghini on top of a flatbed truck.
Cohen, who appeared in character as General Aldeen, explained that he refused to pay the clamp charges. He was flanked by female bodyguards and wielded a gold pistol (See photos from the premiere).
Sacha Baron Cohen will be attending the 84th annual Academy Awards as "The Dictator" after all, Oscar producer Brian Grazer confirmed on Friday.
"We're thrilled to have him and he'll be on the red carpet dressed as 'The Dictator'," Grazer told Extra.
Sacha Baron Cohen has no qualms about promoting his films by crashing award shows in character, but the Academy has asked the actor to refrain from bringing "The Dictator" to Oscar Sunday.
The Academy said that Cohen, who appeared in the Best Picture nominee "Hugo," is not banned from the awards show but that it would be "inappropriate" for him to promore his movie.
