Ryan Seacrest's new shows tackle Lady Gaga, 'life ruining problems'
Ryan Seacrest is keeping busy these days, as the American Idol and radio host set to produce several new shows, including a dance series featuring Lady Gaga's choreographer and a show tentatively called The Incurables, that will help people combat their "life ruining problems."
The Incurables "offers a fascinating look inside the lives of ordinary people whose irrational behavior is so out of control that they are on the verge of a personal crisis," Seacrest's website says.
"World-renowned therapist" Paul McKenna will visit people inside their homes and help them deal with conditions such as social disorders, compulsive shopping and post traumatic stress disorder, often seen in war veterans or victims of violence or accidents, it said.
Seacrest's new dance program, a collaboration with Lady Gaga's choreographer Laurie Ann Gibson, is said to revolve around dancers and choreographers in Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She was responsible for the choreography in some of Lady Gaga's biggest hit videos including "Paparazzi," and "Telephone and also worked on the Fox show So you Think You Can Dance.
Seacrest, 35, has hosted American Idol since in debuted in 2002. In its first year, he shared the stage with co-host Brian Dunkleman, who later had mostly small roles on television.
Seacrest has helped produce several successful reality shows, including E!'s hit Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Denise Richards: It's Complicated.
Seacrest also hosts the radio show On-Air With Ryan Seacrest, serves as a co-anchor on E! News and its red carpet award shows, served as an executive producer on Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and co-hosts Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest. He also occasionally fills in as host on CNN's Larry King Live and Live with Regis and Kelly.
Seacrest has been named as a possible successor to host Larry King Live, along with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric, America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan and CNN correspondent Anderson Cooper, according to USA Today.
Larry King announced last month he would leave his talk show in the fall after 25 years. Seacrest recently imitated King before interviewing him on his radio show. When asked recently if he would replace King, Seacrest said on his Twitter page: "larry is an american idol."
