Russell Crowe and wife Danielle Spencer split, report says
Russell Crowe and wife Danielle Spencer are at the center of a report which claims the couple has separated.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Crowe, 48, and Spencer, 43, are no longer together and the split was said to be amicable. A spokesperson for Crowe had no immediate comment when asked by KABC-Television, OTRC.com's parent company, about the report.
Crowe and Spencer are the parents of two sons, 8-year-old Charles and 6-year-old Tennyson. The couple wed in April 2003 and met while starring in the 1990 film "The Crossing." Crowe briefly dated his "Proof of Life" co-star Meg Ryan in 2000.
Spencer is a singer-songwriter who recently appeared as a contestant on the Australian version of "Dancing With The Stars" where she finished in second place.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald report, there were rumors about the couple's relationship woes when Spencer was photographed in June spending time with her pro dance partner Damian Whitewood.
Crowe has several films lined up on his roster and recently filmed the movie "Noah." Production began in July and parts of the movie were filmed in New York City. The actor plays the title character, the Biblical hero who builds an ark. The Darren Aronofsky-directed movie also stars "Harry Potter" actress Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly and Anthony Hopkins and hits theaters in 2014.
He also has roles in the upcoming films "The Man with the Iron Fists" and "Broken City." Crowe is set to play the role of Superman's biological father Jor-El in the latest film about the superhero called "Man of Steel" due out in June 2013. He will next appear in the film adaptation of the musical "Les Miserables" where he stars as Javert. That film is set for release on December 25.
