Ruben Studdard, former 'American Idol' winner, reportedly files for divorce

Former "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard is ending his three-year marriage to Surata Zuri McCants, according to reports.

Studdard, who beat out Clay Aiken in season two of "American Idol" in 2003, filed for divorce in Atlanta and cited "irreconcilable differences," according to E! News. The couple has no children.

Studdard, 33, and McCants wed in 2008 in a ceremony in Studdard's home state of Alabama. The two met in October 2006.

A spokesperson for the singer told the site, "Ruben and Zuri have gone their separate ways."

Studdard's last album was the 2009 release "Love Is."
