Rosie O'Donnell and fiance Michelle Rounds are trying for a baby
Rosie O'Donnell and her fiance Michelle Rounds announced their engagement in December and apparently don't want to waste any time making a family.
When Dr. Oz visited the "The Rosie Show" on Friday and O'Donnell revealed that she and her partner are hoping to have a baby.
"She's trying to get pregnant," O'Donnell said on an episode set to air on Monday, January 30 at 7pm on OWN. The first part of the interview with Dr. Oz aired on Friday.
"Michelle is seeing a fertility doctor," a source told Us magazine. "She is really excited and they cannot wait to add to their family. Rosie goes to all of her doctors' appointments with her and is really supportive. She isn't pregnant yet but they hope as soon as possible she will be."
O'Donnell announced her engagement on December 5, during a taping of her show. O'Donnell's spokesperson later confirmed the news to the Associated Press.
The 49-year-old host and comedienne met Rounds at a Starbucks earlier this year. O'Donnell first publicly stepped out with Rounds on September 19 at her annual Rosie Theater Kids Gala in New York City.
"I thought she was a 28-year-old heterosexual girl, because that's what she looked like to me. And she's a 40-year-old gay woman," the comedian told "Nightline" correspondent Cynthia McFadden -- about the first time she met Rounds -- in an interview in October. "My gadar was way off."
"I think if I had known that she was gay, I wouldn't have been brave enough to talk to her," O'Donnell revealed.
O'Donnell made her return to television in October with her talk show "The Rosie Show," which premiered on October 10 on Oprah Winfrey's OWN.
Rounds is a corporate head hunter in New York. O'Donnell was previously married to long-time partner Kelli Carpenter from 2004 to 2007. The couple adopted three children: Sons Parker and Blake and daughter Chelsea. Carpenter also gave birth to a daughter named Vivienne Rose in 2002.
From 1996 to 2002, O'Donnell hosted her own daytime talk show "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," which earned her six Daytime Emmys for outstanding talk show host. She later co-hosted "The View" in 2006 and left the show a year later.
A wedding date has not been set.
