Ron Perlman becomes Hellboy for Make-A-Wish Foundation
Ron Perlman reprised his role as Hellboy after a young boy asked to meet the character for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Spectral Motion, the special effects company responsible for turning the actor into Hellboy, and Perlman himself helped a young boy named Zachary's wish come true.
Perlman "loved the idea" and spent several hours in makeup with makeup artists Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde, to become the comic book demon-turned-good.
According to Spectral Motion's Facebook page, Perlman also ordered a "Hellboy sized meal of burgers, shakes, and fries" for Zachary and the crew. The special effects company, who were also responsible for the effects on movies like "X-Men: First Class," "Paul" and "Land of the Lost," also shared photos of Zachary's young Hellboy transformation.
The "Hellboy" franchise was directed by Guillermo de Toro and also starred Selma Blair, John Hurt and Jeffrey Tambor.
Perlman, who currently stars on the hugely popular FX series "Sons of Anarchy," is known for roles in films like "Hellboy," "Hellboy II: The Golden Army," and "Drive." He also portrayed Vincent the "beast" opposite Linda Hamilton in the 1980 CBS series "Beauty and the Beast."
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. According to the organization's website, they grant a wish every 38 minutes.
