Robert Pattinson admires Charlie Sheen?
Robert Pattinson, star of the "Twilight" films, reportedly "admires" troubled actor Charlie Sheen.
Sheen, 45, had recently caused a media firestorm due to rants against "Two and a Half Men" producers, his self-proclaimed "rock star" lifestyle and a custody battle with estranged wife Brooke Mueller.
Pattinson, 24, "admires Charlie Sheen and his 'little escapades,'" Vanity Fair magazine reported, quoting the "Twilight" actor as saying: "I like crazy people who don't give a (expletive)."
Pattinson's spokesperson had no immediate comment, when asked to verify the British star's remarks. Pattinson has largely kept his own life private.
The magazine also quoted Pattinson as saying that he watched reruns of "Two and a Half Men" in his trailer.
Filming of the series, one of CBS' most successful comedy shows, was suspended in January after Sheen began treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. The actor has undergone several rehab stints. Earlier this month, he insulted the show's co-creator, spurring the network to halt production on the rest of the season.
Since then, Sheen has appeared in a series of television interviews, including on ABC's "20/20" program, which videotaped him at his Los Angeles home, where he currently lives with two porn stars. On Wednesday, authorities removed his twin sons from his house after Mueller obtained a temporary restraining order, citing domestic violence. He has denied her claims (watch a video of Sheen at a press conference following the incident).
Despite his turmoil, Sheen's fanbase is growing. He opened a Twitter page on Tuesday. By Wednesday afternoon, he has gained more than 935,000 users followers and the hashtags "#tigerblood" and "#winning" have been used by thousands of people, in reference to comments he has made about his personality.
Pattinson plays the vampire Edward in the "Twilight" films alongside Kristen Stewart. They are currently filming the two-part movie "Breaking Dawn," the fourth and final installment in the series based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer.
Pattinson addressed rumors of a romance with Stewart in his interview with Vanity Fair, which quoted him as saying: "It's just very traumatic."
When the "Twilight" mania is over, "the media will lose interest [in the relationship]," the magazine quoted him as saying. "There'll be nothing to say. It won't fit into a headline anymore. It won't fit into a template."
In November, the first image from "Breaking Dawn" was posted online and showed Bella's hand on a bed clutching feathers. In a scene from the books, the couple's lovemaking during their honeymoon becomes so frantic that they break the headboard on their bed and Cullen bites through a down pillow.
"Breaking Dawn"'s first part is set to be released on November 18, 2011 and the second part is due to hit theaters on Nov. 16, 2012.
