Rihanna to make movie debut in 'Battleship', report says

Rihanna is reportedly set to make her feature film debut in Battleship, which is based on the popular board game and which also stars True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard and Friday Night Lights' Taylor Kitsch.
In the movie, Kitsch plays a naval officer who leads a battle for planet survival against a superior force and Skarsgard has been cast as his brother, Variety said. Rihanna's specific role was not announced.
Rihanna, a 22-year-old Grammy-winning pop and R&B artist, has appeared as herself in various television shows as well as the made-for-TV film Bring It On: All or Nothing, but has been looking to expand her acting career.
The film is set for release is May 2012 and is directed by Peter Berg, the director of Hancock the film as well as Friday Night Lights. Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber, who penned the script for the upcoming Helen Mirren and Bruce Willis film Red, wrote the screenplay.
