Rihanna gets wax figure at Madame Tussauds, Tweets photo of botched red hairstyle
Rihanna received her own wax figure at the Madame Tussauds museum in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. Can you identify the real Rihanna in the photos below?
If you thought the photo on the left is of the wax figure of Rihanna, you are correct. On the right, the pop and R&B singer is pictured in person at the 37th Annual American Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, in Los Angeles.Studio artists from Madame Tussauds, which also operates museums in places such as London, New York and Los Angeles, created the figure after studying hundreds of photographs and videos of Rihanna, now 22.
Mimicking her appearance in 2009, the singer's wax clone has a partially shaved hairstyle with sweeping bleached blonde bangs. The figure is dressed in a black outfit donated by Rihanna herself, which includes a lace corset, a fitted jacket, skinny pants and silk heels.
"With a nod to Rihannas love of accessories, Madame Tussauds has also added some 'bling' to her figure with a large, glittering pin on her jacket lapel, sparkling gold and diamond ring, giant diamond earrings and diamond tennis bracelet," the company said in a statement on its website.
Rihanna no longer resembles her wax figure and has in recent months donned a short, red hairstyle. She recently posted a photo of a botched hairstyling attempt on her Twitter page, saying: "New hair....new curling iron BURN."
