Rihanna cancels Houston concert due to illness
Rihanna has canceled her concert in Houston, Texas, due to an undisclosed illness, Live Nation confirmed on Monday, April 15.
The concert was set to take place on Monday. A statement on the singer's website said, "The Rihanna Diamonds World Tour previously scheduled for this evening in Houston has been postponed it was confirmed today by Live Nation."
"Unfortunately, as a result of illness Rihanna is unable to perform this evening at Houston's Toyota Center," the statement added. "Fans are instructed to retain their tickets to this event pending rescheduled show date information."
Rihanna had previously canceled shows in Baltimore and Boston in March because she had laryngitis. At that time, the singer took to her official Twitter and apologized to her Boston fans.
"#BOSTON this is the hardest thing for me to deal with!" she Tweeted on March 9. "I feel like we've been waiting on this day forever, and I'm hurt that I let you down."
Rihanna has not Tweeted about the Houston concert. The next tour date is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, in Dallas. That concert is still expected to go on, according to her website.
The 25-year-old singer is touring to support her seventh album, "Unapologetic," which features the hits "Diamonds" and "Stay."
