Rihanna breaks Billboard record, has most No. 1s on pop songs chart
Rihanna has broken a Billboard chart record, garnering the most No. 1 singles on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart in its 18 years as her new song "Only Girl (In the World)" rises to the top position.
This is the seventh time Rihanna, a 22-year-old R&B and pop singer, has dominated this Billboard chart. Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga tie for second place with six No. 1 singles on the Pop Songs list each.
Previous Rihanna singles that topped the chart include "Disturbia", "Rude Boy" and "Love the Way You Lie," her duet with Eminem.
Rihanna performed her new song as well as "What's My Name?" at the 2010 American Music Awards on Sunday and won the award for favorite Soul/R&B female artist. (Check out photos of Rihanna performing at the event.)
