David Letterman recently celebrated his 30th anniversary of his job as a late-night television host by featuring on his CBS series "The Late Show" shock jock Howard Stern and "Groundhog Day" actor Bill Murray, who almost started a fire at the CBS studio.

On Tuesday's episode, the 61-year-old actor, known for his eccentric humor, brought Letterman a chocolate-frosted cupcake with 30 candles. He lit them with an electronic lighter and matches. Murray dropped several sticks, still attached to the packet, on the floor and uttered a muted expletive before he kicked it and put out the flames. Letterman, 64, then blew out the candles.

Jerry Seinfeld knows the secret to winning over viewers of ABC's daytime talk show "LIVE!" following Regis Philbin's exit: Puppies.

The comedian and "Seinfeld" star brought his new black and tan-colored dachshund, Jose, on the show on Tuesday, November 22, the second day of his co-hosting gig. He had said a day earlier that his family got it as an "impulse buy."

Regis Philbin bid farewell to his longtime ABC daytime talk show "LIVE! with Regis and Kelly" on Friday, November 18, after serving as a host more than 28 years, during an emotional tribute episode.

The 80-year-old maintained his composure during his final regular appearance, which featured appearances from celebrities and members of his family, as well as words of praise from co-host Kelly Ripa, who fought back tears as she said on the air that her life "forever changed" when she joined the program more than a decade ago.

Kathie Lee Gifford says she held in her tears at Regis Philbin's final "LIVE! with Regis and Kelly" show until "the cast of 'Rent' started singing.

Gifford served as Philbin's co-host on the series, then called "LIVE! with Regis and Kathie Lee," for 15 years before leaving in 2000. She now serves as a host on NBC's "Today" show and was one of several celebrities who sat in the audience at the taping of Philbin's final regular appearance on the ABC daytime talk program on Friday, November 18. The 80-year-old has hosted the show for more than 28 years.

Jerry Seinfeld is set to temporarily take over hosting duties after Regis Philbin leaves his post at ABC morning show "LIVE! with Regis & Kelly" later this month.

The "Seinfeld" comedian and actor will co-host the program with Kelly Ripa for three episodes, airing between November 21 and November 23, organizers say. He is one of several celebrity guest hosts the show has lined up.

Regis Philbin announced on Tuesday, September 6, that his final appearance on "LIVE! with Regis & Kelly" will be on November 18.

The show will continue with Kelly Ripa, who joined him as co-host a decade ago. No new co-host has yet been chosen to team up with Ripa.

Lisa Rinna has expressed interest in taking over Regis Philbin's spot on "LIVE! with Regis & Kelly," opposite Kelly Ripa.

In a recent interview, Rinna says she was up for Ripa's spot on the show ten years ago but thinks it would be interesting to turn the show into "LIVE! with Lisa & Kelly."

Is Regis Philbin trying to score a new daytime syndicated talk show, which would air following his departure from "LIVE! with Regis & Kelly?"

Philbin, who will leave the series in November, has not commented publicly on a New York Post report that said the 79-year-old was in talks with studios to develop a talk show that contained more news coverage.

Kelly Ripa is developing a television special about Regis Philbin, who is set to leave their talk show "LIVE! with Regis & Kelly" in November.

The project, helmed by her and husband Mark Consuelos' production company, will showcase highlights from the life and career of Philbin, who is 79 and has hosted the ABC daytime program in its various formats for some 25 years, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Regis Philbin has postponed his departure from the morning talk show "LIVE! with Regis & Kelly" from the end of the summer to November, OnTheRedCarpet.com has confirmed.
