Veteran country singer Reba McEntire, 55, says she follows the careers of younger country music artists such as Miranda Lambert, as she and many of them prepare to take the stage at the 2010 CMA Awards.

The 2010 CMA Awards telecast, honoring the best in country Music, is set to air live on ABC on Wednesday, November 10 at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. central from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the ceremony, which will feature performances from McEntire and Lambert as well as American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift and even actress Gwyneth Paltrow.

"I watch it," McEntire told the Associated Press. "I watch the charts. I watch the videos. I see what the younger acts are doing. They're my competition but they're also my friends and my peers that I'm working with, and I'm very proud of Miranda. She has struck gold this year with the songs she's selected ... I am very anxious to see how she maintains this, what she comes out with next and how she handles it."

McEntire plans to release her 34th album, All the Women I Am, on November 9. She also starred on her own comedy series, Reba, from 2001 to 2007 and has appeared in small films. She is set to guest star on the sitcom Better With You on November 17.

"I think Reba has really shown what a woman's career should look like," Lambert said. "She's just a mogul. She works so hard and she looks better than she ever has and her music's great still, it fits in no matter what."

McEntire has won several Country Music Association Awards and is nominated this year for Female Vocalist of the Year, along with Lambert, who received nine nominations.
