The announcement came on the band's official website on January 25. The couple is expecting the child in the summer.
"This was definitely a huge surprise, but we're so thankful and excited that Maddie is going to have a brother or sister," Jay DeMarcus said in the statement. "We're really gonna have our hands full!"
"Jay and I are thrilled about completing our family. Madeline is going to love having a sibling and we are bracing ourselves for the many sleepless nights ahead," Allison DeMarcus added.
The couple is already parents to a 13-month-old girl named Madeline Leigh who was born on Dec. 17, 2010.
DeMarcus and his wife met when she appeared in a video for Rascal Flatts and wed in May 2004 in a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee. Allison DeMarcus is a former Miss Tennessee and currently works as a personality on the CMT.
Rascal Flatts is currently on tour and recently announced the release of its next album, "Changed," on April 3.
