Ralph Macchio talks butt pads after his 'Dancing With The Stars' week 9 performance.

At the start of the semi-final round of "Dancing With The Stars," we weren't really focused so much on who danced what and how well they did it. All eyes were on Kym Johnson after her terrifying fall last week during rehearsals with her partner Hines Ward. They showed the accident during their pre-tape segment and it's something I only ever want to see once. It looked horribly painful, and sounded even worse. When we heard her say "I can't feel my arms," my heart sank. But that Kym is a trouper, and somehow she rebounded enough to perform not one, not two, but three dances for this round. So bravo to Ms. Johnson!

Now back to the competition: each couple performed two full dance routines, and then took part in some sort of "Cha Cha dance off." Here's a rundown, from highest score to lowest. SPOILER ALERT

Stamina is the name of the game this week on "Dancing with the Stars"! Each couple performs twice: one fully rehearsed and choreographed dance, and one "instant dance." The big headlines of the week though involve Ralph Macchio's bum knee.

Ralph Macchio came into week eight of "Dancing With The Stars" with a severe handicap, not only was he suffering from a ruptured cyst in his knee, but the "Karate Kid" actor subsequently had only one day to rehearse for this week's competition.

"Saturday, I thought there's no way I'd be here. I thought I was done," Macchio told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "We both did. Little by little, I was at least able to push through. It's very painful and they're telling me don't be on it, but it can't end this way. We have too much to offer. It's been a long, great run."
