Rachel Zoe debuts collection at New York Fashion Week

09/14/2011 by Olivia Allin

Rachel Zoe, a celebrity stylist-turned designer and star of Bravo's "The Rachel Zoe Project" debuted her Brigitte Bardot-inspired spring collection at New York's Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

"My inspiration is really very simple," Zoe told the Associated Press on Monday. "It's Brigitte Bardot, South of France, late 60s, early 70s, kind of running around - super glamorous - not trying to be, she just is."

Zoe's husband Rodger Berman brought their adorable 5-month-old son Skyler Morrison to the event, where the stylist unveiled her collection to retailers, editors and other stylists.

The collection is a follow-up to Zoe's fall Rachel Zoe Collection, which is currently selling out in stores.

When asked which was scarier - giving birth or debuting a collection at New York Fashion Week, Zoe said, "Both equally scary for totally different reasons."

"I'd be lying if I didn't say it was hard, but it's so much easier than I thought it would be," Zoe continued. "The baby just adds so much life to your life that it makes everything easier in a way."

Zoe, 40, and Berman welcomed their son Skyler Morrison in March. The stylist announced the birth of their son on Twitter, mentioning that he weighed in at 6 lbs., 12 oz. and was 20 inches long.

"@rbermanus and I couldn't be happier with little Skyler Morrison in our arms...he is everything. XoRZ," Zoe, 39, said on her Twitter page on Wednesday, March 24. Zoe met the investment banker in college at George Washington University. The couple got married in 1996.

Zoe announced her pregnancy on Twitter, following months of mass speculation to her pregnancy.

Zoe's reality series premiered its new season on September 6, without the stylist's former assistant, Brad Goreski.

It was announced in March that Goreski would be getting his own Bravo show with a working title of "It's a Brad Brad World." The docu-series will follow Goreski as he embarks on his new business venture and tries to maintain his personal life.

During the premiere, Zoe revealed that she cried for "A week or two ... maybe even three" when she found out she was going to have a boy, because she was hoping for a baby girl. She warmed up to the idea of a son when she explored outfit opportunities for a baby boy. Her husband Rodger insisted, "He's not a doll," to which the stylist replied, "He's totally a doll."

"The Rachel Zoe Project" airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. Watch a video of Zoe's Fashion Week debut below.
