Rachel McAdams, who stars with Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton in the new film "Morning Glory", says she once worked as a tour guide in New York. The catch? She didn't actually know anything about the city.

"It was a tour company in Toronto and they had someone call in sick and they asked, 'Do you want to take busloads of high school kids to New York and I'd never been to New York and I said 'Yes'," the Canadian native said on "Live With Regis and Kelly" recently. "I had no idea what I was talking about."

"I was that person at the front of the bus that was supposed to tell those kids all about New York and I was like, 'That's a nice building,'" McAdams said.

The actress, who turns 32 on November 17 and who has also starred in films such as "Mean Girls" and "The Notebook", plays a news producer who tries to save a failing morning program whose co-anchors, played by Ford and Keaton, are always at each others' throats.

"I liked that it's not a traditional romantic comedy," McAdams told the New Jersey Star-Ledger newspaper. "There is a love story in it, but that part is actually kind of minor- it's more of a platonic love story between my character and Harrison Ford."

"I really liked my character," she added. "She's a bit of a contradiction because here she is, in charge of this massive TV news show, yet she seems so scattered and kind of goofy. She's not the person you would expect to be able to handle it. Yet when push comes to shove, she steps up her game."
