'Psycho' Mike speaks out about 'Dancing With The Stars' elimination
Spoiler alert! After getting low marks from the judges both weeks, 'Psycho' Mike Catherwood was the first eliminated on "Dancing with the Stars: The Results Show" on Tuesday March 29, 2011.The radio host talked candidly about his gratitude for the opportunities he's had in his career. "I am so grateful to every day, day in and day out, be so happy to go to work," said Catherwood. "Not a lot of people can say that. When I drive in to do the 'Kevin and Bean Show,' when I drive in to do 'Loveline,' I'm truly giddy that that's my line of work and that those are the people I get to work with it."
Catherwood said he draws on his past experiences as a drug addict to appreciate how far he has come professionally. "Being able to look back on some of the darker days certainly makes me overwhelmingly appreciative of stuff like this," said Catherwood. "I mean, it all seems so surreal because I couldn't even imagine having a job, let alone the jobs that I do have and the ability to be on 'Dancing With The Stars.' If nothing comes of this career wise, I'm perfectly happy because I'm very content at what I do."
Fellow contestant Kendra Wilkinson added, "We lose goofiness, we lose the- just the fun, the spunk. I mean, he was awesome."
