Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth announce their divorce
After 11 years of marriage, Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth are calling it quits.
The "Twilight Saga" actor and "90210" actress announced their breakup in a joint statement on March 13.
"While we have decided to end our marriage, we both share the same deep love and devotion to our children," the two said in their statement, obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. "We remain dedicated to raising our beautiful daughters together. We ask for privacy and respect during this time."
It is unclear if either Facinelli, 38, or Garth, 39, has filed divorce papers and Facinielli's spokesperson had no immediate comment on the matter.
The couple has been together since 1996 when they met on the set of a made-for-TV movie called "An Unfinished Affair." The two wed in 2001 and have three children together, 14-year-old Luca, 9-year-old Lola and 5-year-old Fiona.
Facinelli is likely best known for his role as Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the "Twilight Saga" series. He brought Garth to the Los Angeles premiere of the third film, "Eclipse," in June 2010 (see video). He appeared at the premiere of the fourth movie, "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" in June 2011 alone (see video).
The actor also stars on "Nurse Jackie" and has appeared in "Damages," "Six Feet Under," "Fastlane," "Riding in Cars with Boys" and "Can't Hardly Wait."
Garth played Kelly Taylor on the hit series "Beverly Hills, 90210" from 1990 to 2000. She later reprised the role in the spin-off series "90210" for two seasons. She also appeared opposite Amanda Bynes in the series "What I Like About You" and competed on season 5 of "Dancing With The Stars" in 2007. She was partnered with Derek Hough and finished in fourth place.
Facinelli will next appear on screen in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," which hits theatres on November 16.
