'Pee-wee Herman Show' hits Broadway
To the excitement of many now grown-up fans, Paul Reubens has once again donned his infamous red bow tie for the Broadway stage version of "The Pee-wee Herman Show".
"I'm terrified, but I'm excited and energized more than anything," Ruebens tells Playbill about performing on Broadway. His show opened on October 26 and the comedian adds, "I never talk like this because I'm very tough on myself."
The 58-year-old character actor is playing at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre for a brief run, much like the shows he performed in Los Angeles earlier this year.
In addition to beloved characters from Pee-Wee's Playhouse like Charirry and Globey joining the show, Pee-wee will be adding a 21st century character. "We're a little late to the game, but the Playhouse is finally getting a computer," Rueben's tells Playbill.
The Broadway run of "The Pee-Wee Herman" show ends on Jan. 2, 2011.
