Pauley Perrette, best known as the 'goth chick' on CBS' crime show "NCIS," was voted one of the most likeable TV stars.

Perrette landed at the top of a recent Q Score list, which measured TV stars fame and likability among viewers, according to the Associated Press.

On "NCIS," which is based on the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and is currently in its ninth season, Perrette plays eccentric forensic scientist Abby Sciuto.

"I think my character that I play, Abby, is a fantastic role model," Perrette told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the Women in Film event in June 2011. "I am honored to play one of the best characters on TV, that's a role model for young girls around the world. I hear from people's parents, grandparents and girls themselves that the character I play, the fictional character, has encouraged them to go into math and science, which is such a blessing."

Though Perrette claimed she couldn't take credit for her character's positive influence, the actress studied criminology in college and had begun her master's degree program for criminal science before ending up in the entertainment industry.

"I try to live my life as a no-negativity zone, there's no reason to spend any of your time being cruel, being mean, it's not funny - even jokes," Perrette said of what she could take credit for. "You can use every bit of those moments building people up. That's a philosophy I live by."

The 42-year-old actress recently announced her engagement to former British Marine Thomas Arklie.

"Me & #MyMarine are totally engaged now but will NOT GET MARRIED UNTIL #Prop8 is OVER!" Perrette wrote on Twitter on November 19, along with a photo of her and her fiancé.

Perrette was previously married to "Empire Records" actor and musician Coyote Shivers.

The actress got her start in New York, while studying at John Jay School of Criminal Science, she worked several jobs to make ends meet.

Perrette told the Associated Press, "Not only was I bartending in the club-kids scene, with a bra and combat boots and a white Mohawk, but I wore a sandwich board on roller skates passing out fliers for Taco Bell in the Diamond District, and I worked on one of these boats that go around Manhattan way down in the galley, knee-deep in fish water, cooking food for the rich people upstairs."

Perrette said a "kid in coat-check" introduced her to a director and she began landing commercials and roles in shows like "Murder One," "Frasier," "JAG" and eventually "NCIS," which premiered in 2003.

Perrette was also the lead singer in the all-female band Lo-Ball which contributed their song, "Can't Get Me Down" to the "Legally Blonde" soundtrack. Perrette also recorded the song "Fear" under the name "Stop Making Friends," which was included in the "NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack" in 2009 and on a season 6 episode of the show. She recently released a single, "Fire in Your Eyes" with hip hop artist B. Taylor.
