Paul McCartney tops 'Rich List,' worth almost $1.05 billion
Paul McCartney is topping yet another chart -- only this time, it's not because of a hit song.
The former Beatle tops the UK newspaper's Sunday Times' Rich List of 2013. The musician leads the list of the 50 wealthiest music millionaires, and billionaires, in Britain and Ireland.
According to the outlet, the musician is estimated to have a $1.05 billion fortune, which he shares with wife Nancy Shevell, who holds her own $230 million stake in her father's haulage company.
The report notes that the musician has held a position near the top of all the charts for the country's wealthiest musicians since the newspaper's Rich List began in 1989.
In 2012, McCartney came in the No. 3 spot on the prestigious list with $1.02 billion -- a large increase from his 2011 wealth, which the site says was $762 million.
Other musicians who made the esteemed list for 2013 include composer Andrew Lloyd Weber, who is best known for creating the music for the hugely popular stage drama, "The Phantom of the Opera." The musician came in second place with an estimated $954 million in wealth.
Adele topped the outlet's Young Music Rich List, which consists of entertainers ages 30 and under, with a $46.2 million dollar wealth.
The official Rich List is set to be released by the outlet on April 21.
In 2012, McCartney placed on Forbes' list of Highest-Paid Musicians. The rocker, who earned $57 million from May 2011 to May 2012, tied for the eighth place spot alongside country crooner and pop star Taylor Swift.
