Patrick Dempsey rescues teenager from car crash in front yard

Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey rescued a teenager whose car crashed and flipped in Malibu, California on Tuesday night.

"True Story: Grey's Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey pulled my friend's son out of overturned car after bad accident on Tuesday. #GoodDude," Shawn Ryan, a show runner for "The Shield" Tweeted on April 27.

The driver of the Mustang reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which overturned several times before landing in the "Grey's Anatomy" actor's front yard around 5 p.m. local time, according to TMZ.

A source told Us magazine that the 46-year-old actor ran to the accident with a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher. The actor then helped get the boy from the car before calling 911. The teen reportedly suffered only a concussion.

Dempsey, who is best known for playing Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd on "Grey's Anatomy," considers his true passion to be racing cars. He has also appeared in films like "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," "Made of Honor" and "Enchanted."

Dempsey isn't the only actor whose been saving lives, Ryan Gosling recently saved a woman from getting hit by a cab in New York.
