Paris Hilton on 'Dancing With The Stars' or 'Celebrity Apprentice'?
Paris Hilton is returning to reality television, but don't expect to see the hotel heiress on "Dancing With The Stars" or "The Celebrity Apprentice."
"I've been approached every season by both of those shows but I would never do them," Hilton, 30, told OnTheRedCarpet.com and other news outlets during a recent conference call to promote "The World According To Paris," a reality series about her life that is set to debut on the Oxygen cable network on June 1.
"I like doing my own show," Hilton added. "I wouldn't want to be with a bunch of other people on a show who I don't know. Some of the people on those shows I really wouldn't want to be associated with."
She did not elaborate. "Dancing With The Stars," ABC's hit ballroom dancing contest series, is co-hosted by Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke and contestants Kirstie Alley, Disney Channel star Chelsea Kane and NFL star Hines Ward are left competing for the win.
"But, you know, I love Donald Trump," Hilton said. "He's been a great family friend of mine for a long time, so I love his show. But the 'Dancing' show I wouldn't - never do."
Hilton rose to fame with the reality series "The Simple Life," which aired between 2003 and 2007 and also starred fellow socialite Nicole Richie. She was also known at the time for a sex tape with then-boyfriend Rick Salomon, which had been posted online just before the show premiered.
Hilton also starred in the reality programs "Paris Hilton's My New BFF" and "Paris Hilton's British Best Friend," which ran in 2009.
"The World According To Paris" features Hilton's family, boyfriend Cy Waits, personal photographer, friend and Charlie Sheen's estranged wife Brooke Mueller and the heiress' other BFs - her pets.
"I have five dogs, a pig, a parrot, four bunnies, two guinea pigs, two rats, two sugar gliders, which are like flying squirrels, and three cats," Hilton said. "And yes, they'll be on the show as well. Mostly Peter Pan - he's my Chihuahua and he's with me all the time so he's, like, in all the scenes almost."
Hilton told OnTheRedCarpet.com host Rachel Smith at the recent premiere for her new series that "The World According To Paris" will showcase the "real" her.
"This was nothing like 'Simple Life' or 'BFF," Hilton said. "In those shows I was playing a character. This is serious and it's fun, too. People are going to get to see behind-the-scenes, me in my sweats with no make-up on, just chilling at home, fighting with my boyfriend, talking to my friends about personal things. The red carpet stuff is just work."
