According to E! News Hiltons rep says, "The case has been dropped against Paris and no charges will be made. The authorities have apologized for wrongfully accusing her since she had nothing to do with the incident.
Reports hit Friday that Hilton was arrested after she was reportedly escorted out of South Africa's Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium for smoking what appeared to be pot while watching the Brazil-Netherlands quarterfinal World Cup match.Everything is completely fine, Paris later tweeted about the incident. I was not charged or arrested, cause I didn't do anything. I was assisting the police with the investigation and answering their questions. Everyone was super nice and friendly to me. I love South Africa! Such an amazing place, especially during The World Cup!
The Provincial Head of Detectives in Port Elizabeth, Mark Magadlela, had told South African newspaper The Daily Dispatch that Hilton was brought to the police station and then released.
She had appeared in a courtroom around midnight local time after being arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana. The charges were later dropped when it was discovered that someone else in Hilton's group was the one in possession of the marijuana.
Hilton pleaded no contest in 2007 to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. She spent 23 days behind bars.
